Mr and Mrs J. B. Richards returned on Saturday from a short visit to Wellington.

Miss Marjory Curd left this, morning for Palmerston North, where she will spend a holiday visiting friends.

Mrs Lt. Furrie and Miss R. Furrie have returned from a very enjoytfble holiday spent motoring in the North Island.

Miss Taylor, The Vicarage, Orlando Street, was “at home” this afternoon, wh n friends went to meet Miss Inez Taylor, Auckland.

Miss E. Anderson left yesterday morning for a few days in Wellington to attend the wedding of her brother.

The Misses D. and N. Brown left to-day for Wellington, where they will be spending a few days with Mrs J. H. Hail, Kelburn.

Mrs G. Fredric returned to-day from Wellington where she went to meet her aunts, the Misses Brownley (Christchurch). They also returned with her.

Mrs L. C. Jolly, Page Street, intends resuming the bridge parties in connection with the Children's Health Camp, on the first Tuesday and Wed nesday in March. It is to be uoped they will be as well attended as last year.

Mrs North gave a delightful bridge party at her residence, Page Street, last night. Her drawing room was arranged with carnations, roses and sweet peas. She was wearing a mul-berry-coloured velvet and her daughter, Mrs Peakins, was wearing green floral crepe de chine. Those present were: Mesdames R. Curtis, Ken Neil. Perkins, Heslop, McLean, and Misses Beth Thomson, N. Thorpe. M. Porritt, J. Power, Jean Bremner, Molly Malone, B. and Z. Matters.

In spite of the very unsetGed weather, quite a number of people went to HaWera for the races on Saturday. They included, Mr and Mrs Cleland, Mr and Mrs L. A. G. Coldwell, Mr and Mrs R. Fryday, Mr and Mrs Simons, Mr and Mrs A. H. Alness, Mr and Mrs Sptedding, Mr and Mrs Kehealey, Mr and Mrs Stanley, Mr and Mrs Buist, Mr and Mrs Heslop, Mesdames E. P. Hill, P. Harrison, Bennett, A. W. Budge, W. Curd, Looney, Willes, the Misses G. Hill, M. Curd, M. Whittle.
