Though the, weather in the morning was cold and showery the gathering attracted a very large crowd. The gate receipts showed a considerable increase, the takings for the two days being £360 in excess of those of last year. The totalisator handled £20,720, compared with £12,266 for the second day last year, an increase of £8454, making a total of £37,350 for the meeting, an increase of £11,955 on last year, when the total was £25,395. Directly after the sixth race Wotan v-ias sent once round at three-quarter pace, running the last half-mile in 555. He again received an ovation.
