Minister’s Promise To Deputations. Press Association—Copyright. “The isle of forgotten people”—the Hon. T. F. Doyle's description of Stewart Island —is now to have the light of Ministerial attention attention focused upon it. The Minister of Public Works, Hon. R. Semple, who is visiting the island, accompanied by the Minister of Mines, Hon. P. U. Webb, promised deputations that a comprehensive survey of the island would be made as early as possible with the object of ascertaining the potential value of the island industrially and from a tourist viewpoint. "The Government.” he said. "Is determined to explore the resources of every part ot the Dominion, and Stewart Island will not he forgotten, as it appears to have been up to now.”
