The result was a 14-rounds duel with sterilised Italian sabres at a fencing school and lasting 90 minutes. The contestants were stripped to the waists and wore’ neck bandages. Dr. Sarga, with his customary gorilla yelL, in the seventh round evadfijtoyazsony’s thrust and seriously wounded-.him In the hip. The surgeon bandged the wound, and although the seconds vainly urged reconciliation, the duel was’ resumed, Vazaony was wounded in the neck In the eighth round and broke his knee in the fourteenth.
