The Nizam of Hyderabad, reputedly the richest man in the world with an income of £1,599,990 a year, has begun his silver jubilee celebrattons postponed from last year owing to the death of King George V. Although the city is illuminated and many other festivities.' are in progress, the Nizam is devoting large sums which could be spent in spectacular directions to works of public utility and charity.
Despite his vast Wealth, including gold reported to be valued at £50,000,900 and a collection of precious stones, the Nizam has extremely simple tastes. He frequently smokes Indian cigarettes costing him ten a penny.
