WINTRY WEATHER. On account of weather conditions nd cricket, tennis, or bowling match €3 were played on Saturday. Snov on the mountain attracted a larger number of visitors than usual *on Sunday, tTn S'ratford lipstef being particularly well patronised.

Clements; special, Mrs Loving; men, Mr. Neale 1, Mr Sheppard 2; consolation, Mr Webb; special, Mr Ritchie. The Monte Carlo dance was won by Mr Barker and partner.

SHAREMILKERR, Although interest has been arous'd

by the report of the formation of a sharemilkers’ union in the Wellington district, no action has so far been taken towards the formation of such a body in Taranaki. The Minister of Labour, the Hon. 11. T. Armstrong, has undertaken to consider proposals mad 1 - by a deputation seeking protection for sharemilkers against the effect of the wages increase for farm labour.
