Red Menace.
The Red menace continues to en gage Hollywood. It has become knov.'n that two lots have organise espionage systems to trace Communistic utterances and tendencies. One studio is reported to have hired detectives to mingle with employees and another is said to have Instructed loyal members to report suspici ous activities. The Red scare developed, amusingly enough, within ? few days of a dispatch from Moscow which related that three executives of the Sovi't film trust had sentenced to labour ramps b ■••u-.ks-they had wasted State m-.iny in bu* ing a worthless scenario and spent excessively money in producing it.
