On his arrival aboard the Orion today Lord Nuffield announced gifts to New South Wales large hospitals, deaf, dumb and blind institutions.', Fairbridge hemes and several philanthropic organisations totalling £40,000 i Hospitals for children have shared generously in the allocation, which has been worked out on a population basis. The major metropolitan hospitals 'will receive £2OOO to £5OOO each. Lord Nuffield told pressmen that he had received great assistance from Mr. Justice Halso Rogers, who was a fellow traveller, in preparing the list of gifts, working in conjunction with Mr. George A. Lloyd, who is Lord Nuffield’s representative in Australia and New Zealand.
