GOOD OFFERING. : - i CROSSBREDS ADVANCE : Japan In Market For Good To Super Wools. Press Association—Copyright. Diiriedin, Last Night. The second Dunedin wool sale for the season was held to-day, when about 30,3060 bales Were offered. The quality of the offering was generally good, although all the catalogues con - prised a bigger proportion of high country fine heavy conditb,hod wools than at the first sale. There was a good display of South Otago crossbi'eds, which opened in excellent condition, being very bright and well grown. There was good competition for all varieties of wool, although buying on Bradford account was noticeably restricted, but to compensate for the absence of their support Japan again cable into the market for good to super vbols in both crossbreds and halfbreds. The French section competed strongly for pieces arid bellies and all grades of fleece wool. Dunedin mills were keen buyers of fine wools and, as usual, accounted for the top price Realised. There were also important buying, chiefly of good crossbreds, on account Of the United States of America. The range of prices were:— Merino: Extra super, to 23? d; super, 18Jd to 21? d; average, 17d to 18d; inferior, 16d to 16? d. Fine halfbred; Extra super, 24d to 26? d; super, 21? d to 23? d; average, 18d to 21d; inferior. 16d to 17d. Medium halfbred: Extra super. 21? d to 22? d; super, 2fl?d to 21d; average, 19? d to 19? d; inferior, 16d to 16? d. Extra fine crossbred; Extra super, 19 Jd to 20>ld; super,, 19Jd to 19d; average, 17? d to 19? d; interior, 16d 16? d. Three-quarterbred: Extra super, 19? d to 20? d; super, 18id to 19d; average, 16d to 17d; inferior, lid to 15? d. Mediifm crossbred: Extra super, 17d to 17? d; super, 15? d to 16‘4<1; average, 14? d to 15? d; inferior, 14d. to l'4?d.
