The diplomatic correspondent of th® Manchester Guardian says that the Rebels in Spain are now superior in numbers and much superior in discipline and equipment, thanks to Italian and German aid. The Italians seem the elite of Franco’s corps, and many served in Abyssinia. The largest contingent of foreigners on the Government side is the French, but they are mostly ill-trained volunteers. The Spaniards on both sides seem reluctant to fight, leaving the brunt of the battle to the foreigners. The Italians played the greatest pail in the capture of while the Germans were inclined to stand off.
