The controversy raging throughout the United Spates on President Roosevelt’s plan to enlarge the Supremo Court J£‘ reflected in the action of several State Legislatures. Both Houses of the Texas Legislature, although overwhelmingly Democratic, voted by large majorities in opposition to the plan. The Connecticut House passed a resolution condemning the proposal, the Colorado House endorsed it and the South Carolina House referred to a committee a resolution endorsing the plan. The New York Times poll of the national Senate, answered by 38 senators, shows 11 for the proposal and 16 against it. Eleven did not commit themselves.
