FIRST STATE DRIVE ENTHUSIASTIC SCENES High Commissioner And Mr. Nash Attend. Press Association—Copyright. Received 1 p.m. London, February 9. The King made his first state drive in brilliant sunshine to a levee at St. James Palace. The heavy rain suddenly ceased before his departure, and the sun came out. Hundreds lined the route despite the uncertainty of the weather. His Majesty wore the uniform of Coionel-in-Chief of the Grenadier Guards, with the Blue Ribbon of the Order of the Garter. Nearly 2000 attended the levee, including the Duke of Kent and the Duke of Gloucester. The New Zealanders present included Mr. W. J. Jordan, High Commissioner, Mr. Walter Nash, and Mr. J. H. Lascelles.
