NEWSPAPER ARTICLE. Criticising Visit Of British Admiral. Press Association—Copyright. (Received 11.30 a.m.) Milan, February 9. The newspaper Populo D’ltalia, prints an article attributed to Signor Mussolini, blaming democracy for Spain’s pligihtj The article objects to a British Admiral paying even a courtesy visitj to a “Governrrie,nt re pre-s senting, only the will of a (horde of robbers and murderers.” The reference is to a recent visit paid by the commandler-i’n-c'hief of the British Fleet, Admiral Sir Roger Backhouse, to the Prime Minister ,of Spain and the Minister of Marine at Valencia. It was explained in the House of Commons that the Cali was made by the Admiral on the occasion of the Home Fleet taking over (duty off the coast of Spain previously carried out by the Mediterranean Fleet. The visit had no political signifiance and was an opportunity for the new naval commander to acquaint himself with the position. Similar visits were paid at Barcelona and Parma.
