DANZIG POLITICS. MANY ARRESTS. More Than Fifty Persons Now Imprisoned. Press Association—Copyright. London, February 8. Political police have arrested Dr. Stachnik, leader of the Danzig Centre Party. The arrest is regarded as a prelude to the dissolution of the 1 party. I Herr Forster, district Nazi leader, i asserted that the Nazis had practically finished the opposition parties and established good relations with Poland. They would be cordial to the League’s High Commissioner provided he did not interfere with the city’s internal politics l . Dr. Blavier, head of the Danzig Nationalist Party, says the correspondent of the Daily Herald at Warsaw, will be certified as insane and placed in an asylum on the pretext of a nervous breakdown. The Socialist leader, Herr Brill, has already been imprisoned. Other sources announced that a fresh reign of terror has begun. New Gestapo police have imprisoned more than 50 persons, most of whom are Catholics. Other prisoners are being removed from jails to concentration camps in order to make room for further persons who are expected to be arrested.
