ROYAL FAMILY’S APPEAL
TO DUKE OF WINDSOR. NOT TO MARRY. Princess Royal Visiting Her Brother. Press Association—Copyright. Received I 1.45 a.m. London, February 8. Several morning newspapers published a telegraphed photograph of the Princess Royal and the Duke of Windsor outside Vienna station, the latter looking remarkably well though very pensive. The special correspondent of the Daily Mail says that the Duke of Windsor ran down the platform to the sleeping-car from which his sister was waving. As she disembarked the Princess threw her arms round her brother’s neck and kissed him. Lord Harewood shook hands and clasped Edward’s shoulders. Crowds in the streets gave cheers as the party drove to Enzesfeld Castle. The Princess brought her brother numerous parcels. The Daily Mirror says that the Princess Royal will make the Royal Family’s final appeal to the Duke not to marry Mrs. Simpson. The Duke, however, • seems as determined as ever and openly talks of his wedding plans to his friends.
