HUGE RELIEF SUM.

Passed By United States

Senate.

Press Association—Copyright. Washington, Feb. 4.

The Senate to-day passed a £190,000,000 Deficiency Bill containing £178,000,000 to be allotted for relief, despite a warning by Senator Bailey that unless the responsibility for relief was returned to local authorities there would be a steady increase in the national debt, inflation and ultimately national socialism, repudiating the republic.
