WOMEN’S TOPICS.

Social and Personal. Mrs. R. Carryer is al present staying at Oakura beach. Miss Inez Taylor arrived from Auckland yesterday and is stopping at the Vicarage. Mrs. J. Fredric, Brecon Road, is at present camping at Urenui beach. She is accompanied by her family and Miss Clare. Mr. and Mrs. and Miss Porritt Opunake Road, returned on Monday from a most enjoyable cruise to the Bay of Islands and a motor tour of the North Island. Mrs. Harvey. Waverley, is at prerent visiting her daughter Mrs. W. B. Farquharson, Hamlet Street. Mr. and Mrs. Baden Bellringer left this morning for Wellington en route for a trip to the Sounds and Christchurch.

Mrs. L. Sole was “at home” on Monday.

Miss D. Bourke, who has been on a holiday visit to her parents.’, returned to Wellington by the express this ’ morning.

Mrs. G. Hale entertained a few friends at bridge on Tuesday night at her residence, Mountain Road South. She had some beautiful dahlias in her drawing room. Those' present were: Mesdames J. B. Richards, A. W. Budge, H. Wilson (Hamilton), E. Rutherfurd, S. Pitt, F. P. Uniacke, L. Smith.

Mrs. A. G. McKenzie was at home at her residence, Ariel Street, on Wednesday afternoon. She received her guests in a smart lemon arid brown floral georgette. Her mother, Mrs. Murphy, who is staying with her, wode a navy blue floral. linon. Her drawing room was tastefully decorated with gladioli and dahlias'. The guests present were, Mesdames L. G. Pope, Baden Bellringer, F. Bodie, H. Stokes and J. C. Robins. Apologies were received from some who were unable to be present.
