New Year Awards Made In England.

following: Dame of the Grand Cross and Grand Master of the Victorian Order: Queen Elizabeth. Privy Councillor: H .G. Menzies, of Melbourne. Barons: Sir Harry McGowan, Sir Arthur Michael. Viscount: Sir Hamar Greenwood, Baronet: Sir Derwent Hall Caine. Knight Bachelor: Ardiant Boult, the composer.
The Order of Knight Commander of the Star of India was awarded to Sir Osborne Arkell Smith and the 0.8. E. to Henry Crcni Curmi, Maltese Commisioner in Australia. The Air Force Cross was awarded to Squadron-Leader Swain and Captain C. F. Unwins, who established a world altitude record of 43,926 feet.
