WANGANUI RACES.

To-day’s Meeting In Glorious Weather. The weather was fine and the track fast and in good order for the opening of the Wanganui Jockey Club’s meeting yesterday. There was a good attendance of the public and the totalisator handled £11,997, against £8047 for the corresponding day last year, an increase of £3950. Taranaki horses in Taitoru and Te Broney won races, while Court Arms, International, Kia Tere, Onewhietu, Royal Secret and Ned Cuttie filled places. An inquiry was held into Airing’s rider, G. P. Dowrick, weighing in two pounds short after the Victory Hack Handicap, but it was found that no blame was attachable to anybody. HACK HURDLES. 2—BEAU GALLANTE (C.
