Press Association—Copyright. Wellington, To-day.
Mr. H. Stringer, representative in New Zealand for J. C. Williamson, Ltd., has been advised that Colonel de Basil’s Monte Carlo Russian ballet, which has broken all records for a dancing organisation in Australia, is to begin a tour of New Zealand at Auckland on March 14.
It is said of this combination that it sets new standards in the choregraphic art. The ballet, which came direct to Australia from Covent Garden, has, in addition to the 15 principals. a corps of 24 f'emale and 16 male dancers, an aggregation of skilled experts in the art such as has never before appeared in this part of of the world. The programmes will be selected from a list of 24 complete symbolic and poetic ballets, the beauty and grace of which exemplify in no ordinary manner the poetry of motion.
