ELLIS AND CUDDLE.

Leading Jockey Will Go To Australia. In connection with the racing that Cuddle is to do in Australia in the autumn, it is of interest to learn that arrangements have been completed for L. J. Ellis to make the trip <-i order to ride the mare in htr engagements. Ellis has handled her in her best performances in New Zealand —indeed, he has won every race in which he has ridden h:r —so it is not difficult to appreciate that Mr R. J. Murphy was anxious to have her usual pilot, as well as her' regular trainer, T. R. George, on the present campaign. They both understand Cuddle, so everything should be set for the mare to produce her best in the coming autumn campaign in Australia. Ellis will be riding at tfie Takapuna meeting on Friday a'nd Saturday, and probably he will leave Wellington for Sydney next Tuesday.
