The first witness on the fifth day of the trial was Kynazev. He said in evidence that 1500 trainwrecking attempts occurred on the South Ural Railways in 1934, and 2000 in 1935, at the instigation of Japan. The entire press of Moscow demands the death sentence and continues to publish frenzied denunciations from various bodies.

The Echo de Paris reports w that “Soviet circles say that Navachin held the funds of the Trotsky party and supplied money for Trotskyist propaganda, even to Russia itself. Navachin was the exiled Russian economist found, dead in a Pai is street as a result of wounds inflicted with some form of stiletto.
