LOVELOCK PHOTOS

Trophy For Winner Of Taranaki Mile. An unusual trophy in the form of six framed photographs depicting stages of the 1500 metres race at the Berlin Olympic Games, won by J. E. Lovelock, has been presented to the Taranaki sub-centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. The donor of the trophy wishes to remain anonymous and at his request it will be known as the J. E. Lovelock trophy and will be won outright by the winner of the mile championship at this season’s sub-centre meeting. “I think this is a very fine gesture.” remarked the chairman, Mr. A. G. Whiting, at the meeting of the suibcentre, at Stratford last night, when the trophy was accepted and a vote of thanks was passed to the donor.
