The Turkish delegate explained that he was fc-ced to break off negotiations concerning Alexandretta, because while an agreement was reached on all other points, France was unwilling that Turkish should be the official language of the inhabitants. A later message from today states that the last obstacle to the French and Turkish dispute ovei Alexandretta has been settled by an agreement that Turkish shall be the official language. The League Council will decide how far any other - lan guage shall be employed.
