Dr. Kveton reached ; Wellington on January 4. and in the j course of a Dominion tour has ariwv- J ed in Auckland. The baths and novel scenic aUtrac- j Lions at Rotorua, together with the j fishing at Taupo, were warmly com- j mended by Dr. Kveton, who said that i little was heard of New Zealand in European countries. Its attractions, however, well merited international fame, as Rotorua’s amenities were equal, if not superior, to such famous watering places as Pistany and Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), which attracted innumerable tourists from Europe, India, and the United States. “Never before have I seen a country of such beautiful contrasts as New Zealand,” Dr. Kveton remarked. “The Dominion lias everything to satisfy the whims of Europe’s tourist class, but one thing stands against such popularity—it is unknown. Valuable propaganda, work might be performed through the agencies of the country’s European trade commissioner.
