Labour Movement Leaders Pay Last Tributes. The funeral of the late Mr Ted Kennedy, former secretary ot the Federated Cooks’ and Stewards’ Union, which was held at Wellington, was largely attended. The service at the residence ot the late Mr Kennedy was conducted by the Rev. V. C. Veniiemore, who also officiated at the graveside. Representatives were prbsnt from every branch of the Labour movement in Wellington, and there was a large number of secretaries ot trade unions. Work was stopped op ships in port, enabling cooks and stewards, firemen, and sailors to attend. Among those present were the Minister of Mines (the Hon. P., C. Webb), the Minister of Agriculture (the Hon. W. L. Martin), the Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry), Messrs T. O. Bishop (Now Zealand Employers’ Federation), G. P. Norman (Union Steam Ship Company), M. J. Reardon (Conciliation Commissioner), W. J. Wakelin (head office of the Labour Department), P. H. Kinsman, L. G. Goodacre, F. W. Ashby (district office of the Labour Department), J. Glover (chairman of the Wellington Hospital Board), and R. McKeen, M.P. ,A married daughter, Mrs M. Peterson, lives at Stratford, and Mr Kennedy died while on a visit to her.
