Mr L. Jacobsen, of Wellington, who has been on a holiday visit to Stratford, returned by the express this morning.

Mr Brad. Syme, of Parongai, son of the late Mr Walter Syme, who at one time was a member for Stratford in the House of Representatives, was a visitor to Stratford last week.

Miss Kitty Thoms, late of the Stratford branch of the Farmers’ Coop. Ltd., has now secured a position as shorthand-typist in the Wanganui branch of the same firm.

Mrs> J. Horner, of Palmerston North, who has been visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs W. G. Whitmill, Page Street, left for her home on Saturday accompanied by her sister, Miss P. Whitmill.

Mr L. V. Bryant, well-known as a member of the 1935 Everest expedition, and who was prominent in alpine club activities while a master of the New Plymouth Boys’ High School, was a visitor to Stratford last week.

Mr and Mrs J- L. O. Rowe have returned home alt r a motor trip in the North Island, during which they travelled 1200 miles. From Stratford, they visited Wanganui and Napier, continuing the run to Hamilton, where they stayed for several days.

Major Brunt, of Capetown, who commanded the Ist Taranaki Company under the late Colonel W. G. Malone in the Great War, is making a six months, tour of New Zealand, accompanied by his wife and daughter . He was in Stratford last week.
