NEW 2YA STATION.

‘ Opening Ceremony To-night. To-night the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, is to open the new 2YA wireless station to the north of Titahi Bay. Having a power of 60,000 watts, it is the largest ' broadcasting station in the Southern Hemisphere. It has been designed “to provide | one New Zealand radio station which, !in a national emergency, could be I certain of reception, day and night, over as much as possible of the Dominion.” To-night a specially-arranged programme is to launch this new broadcasting service.
