African territories, except extreme Most Africa, were represented | at a conference of tile Regional Comi mission for Africa of the International i Meteorological Organisation which has ended its sittings at Lusaka. Mr A. Walter, Director of the British East Africa Meteorological Services, presided over the conference, which was attended hy experts representing Imperial Airways. Complete agreement on all matters relating to technical method's to be employed especially hi regard to aviation was reached. The matters discussed included times of observations, codes for wireless broadcasts, and information to be supplied to pilots, research officers, etc. The conference will result in the aviation services operating In Africa obtaining meteorological information understandable by all nationalities, irrespective of language. The services hope, after their resolutions are ratified by the central committee and respective Governments, to bring uniformity Into operation early nent year. Tlie commission is considered to have achieved a striking success In international cooperation, bringing within view the issue of a daily synoptic chart for al. Africa.
