FORMER STAR DESTITUTE. DIVORCED HUSBAND TO RESCUE. Elinor Fair, who once earned £5OO a week as a film star, is now destitute. Her second husband came to hei rescue with financial assistance. She was formerly married to William Boyd, the film star. GABLE A SHERIFF. Clark Galble, William Powell and Nelson Eddy are sheriffs of the North-west. The three M-G-M stars have been made honorary members of the Washington Sheriffs and Police Association, an honour bestowed in each case because of a picture role of outstanding value in telling the public of the work of peace officers. Powell won his for his detective role in "The Thin Man”; Nelson Eddy for his portrayal of a Canadian Mountie in “Rose Marie”; and Gable for his work in “The Secret Six.”
