SCHOOLS RE-OPENING.
Early Recall Of Teachers Discussed. No definite advice as to when schools will re-open after the holidays has yet been received by the Taranaki Education, Board. At a meeting of ths board, yesterday, a brief discussion took place on the question of when teachers should resume duty. With regard tp the question that had been, raised of teachers on holiday at Dunedin, the Medical Officer of Health;, Dr. W. F. Dawson, stated that he had writfen to the Director General of Education suggesting that in order to obviate any risk teachers should be . instructed to be back in their districts at least 10 days before the schools opened. So far he had received no reply. If his suggestion were not made general Dr. Dawson said he would be prepared to recommend the Taranaki board to call on its teachers to return to their districts ten days before the opening of the schools. The question of occupying the extra time by refresher courses was also discussed but no action was taken.
