RAILWAY PAY-DAY. As from to-day railway employees will receive their fortnightly wages on Thursday instead of Friday as in the past. This will enable shopping to be spread over an extended period and help to relieve a week-end rush. CO-OPERATION WITH FARMER. At a general meeting of the Stratford branch of the Labour Party held last night it was resolved to extend an invitation to Mr. H. Marchant, of Cardiff, to give an address on the subject of co-operation between the farmer and the town worker. FESTIVAL OR CONTEST. "All bands should attempt to be present, it should be a music festival and not a band contest,” said. Mr. A. E. Pollock at a meeting of the Taranaki Brass and Pipe Bands Union last night when difficulties of various bands had been mentioned. The majority of delegates, however, disagreed with this viewpoint.
