BUSH PRESERVATION.

Conference Being Held For Future Action. Press Association—Copyright. Wellington, Last Night. The Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, stated to-day that a conference to consider the Government’s proposals for the preservation of native bush and the beautification of main highways and bare spaces of the Dominion was likely to be held towards the end of February or the beginning of March. The proposals to be submitted to the conference, which would consist of representatives of the Government, the State Departments concerned and horticultural and beautifying societies, had been almost completed by an inter-departmental committee. The Minister characterised the work as being of national importance and said he looked for sound practical work when the organisation was under way.
