Australia’s team for the fourth Test match commencing at Adelaide on January 29 was announced this morning as follows; D. G. Bradman (South Australia). S. J. McCabe (New Wales) W. A. Oldfield (New South Wales). J. H. Fingleton (New South Wales) W. J. O’Reilly (New South Wales). C. L. BadcOck (South Australia). W. A. Brown (Queensland). A. G. Chipperfield (New South L. O’B. Fleetwood-Smith (New South WjMes). R. Gregory (Victoria). E. L. McCormick (Victoria). K. Rigg (Victoria).
The twelfth, man will be decided on the morning of the match. Cricket commentators generally approve of the Australian team, although some doubt whether it is wise that Sievers should be dropped for Chipperfield. Gregory is the newcomer to the team. Next match will be the first test experience of this brilliant Victorian. He has had only one season in first-class cricket and is now 22 years old. He is a solid batsman, with a good defence and is also a promising slow bowler. Omissions from the third test team are Ward, Darling, and Sievers. McCormick and Chipperfield are two that have regained their places. McCormick was not fit for the third test.
