The American and world’s champion swimmer, Jack Medica, who on Monday lowered the New Zealand record for the 440 yards by 14 2-ss, to-day covered 220 yards in 2m 14 2-ss, beating Noel Crump’s record by 7 3-ss. The time was the fastest ever registered in the Dominion as it eclipsed by 2 l-5s the performance of the Frenchman, Jean Taris, at Auckland two years ago. Medica made the time in an exhibition race wiHi the Auckland champion, P. Hanan, whom he defeated by 11 yards.
