Memorial Will Be Unveiled On King George’s Day.

The Duke of Gloucester is relinguishing his Army career to assist the King in official engagements. The Duke and Duchess will live at York House from March.

It is officially denied that a midnight memorial service is being held at Sandringham on the anniversary of King George’s death. The present King will unveil a memorial to his father at Windsor on King George’s Day.

All members of (the Royal Family except the Duke of Windsor, will be assembled at Sandringham on January 20, which , will be the first anniversary pf the death of King George V. Their Majesties the King and Queen, She Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret Ross, Queen Mary, the Princess Royal, the Earl of Harewood and the Duke of Gloucester are already at Sandringham ;and the Duke of Kent will arrive tomorrow. 1

No official announcement lhas been made, but it is believed a private memorial Will be held at (Sandringham Church, to which the members of the Royal Family will walk in (darkness soon after 11 P(m. The .service will thus be in progress iat the time 'of (the King’s death last year. It was at 9.35 p.m. When the bulletin, “The King's life is moving peacefully towards jits close,” -was issued, and 'midnight when a. further bulletin announced that death came peacefully at 11.35 p.m. Apart from the members of the Royal Family, only a few old servants on the estate |wlho (worked for King George 'V. will attend the [service. There will be no choir mor music.
