HOSPITAL CONTROL.
Report To To-day’s Meeting Of Board. The monthly meeting o£ the Stratford Hospital Board was held to-day. Members present were: Messrs T. R. Anderson (chairman), G. P. Harkness, Mrs M. T. Phillips. Mrs D. Shannon. The Medical Superintendent, Dr. W. Brown, in his report for the work of December, stated that the number of patients admitted was 49, discharged 40, died 2, remaining in hospital 28, out patients attended 101, admissions to maternity ward 9, births 9, visits to ante-natal clinic 52. The Matron (Mrs J. Hunt) advised that all four candidates, Nurses Sandford, Park, Keetley and Brunton, passed the recent State maternity examination. Thanks were expressed on behalf of the patients and staff for Christmas donations. Mr R. Gooding (Health Inspector) reported that no cases of infectious diseases had occurred in the Stratford and Whangamomona counties during November and December. Sister Robertson, Whangamomona District Nurse, reported that 37 patients had been treated, the number of visits totalling 111. The report oi the gardener (Mr M. Priest) stated that the vegetables had done well in spite of the-season. AU the flower gardens were well stocked with annuals, which would be in full bloom shortly. It was resolved to 'request the Board’s architects. Messrs Griffiths and Syme, to submit a comprehensive report on the lay-out of the hospital buildings.
