With a number of lists not yet receiv. d, the Hospital Radio Fund ap peal had realised £262 17s Id to date, reported Mr T. L. Penn, secretary to the Stratford Hospital Board, at to-day’s meeting. RADIO FUND STREET DAY. High praise for the splendid work donei by helpers on the occasion of the street day collection was voiced by members of the Stratford Hospital Board at to-day’s meeting and a special vote of thanks was accorded nurses and assisting collectors. HENRY LANE SHIELD. The Henry Lane Shield, which is open for Dominion-wide competition and is the high Ist award in New Zealand for the general work of Boys and Girls’ Agricultural Clubs, has been won this year by the Egmont Village school. This is the second occasion on which Egmont Village has gained the distinction, the last having bt-en in 1931. During the past eight years Taranaki has held the Lane Shield six times. Ararata won the shield in 1929 and 1930, Egmont Village in 1931 and 1936, Pukearuhe in 1933 and Tikorangi in 1935.
