This story as told at the Camberi well inquest on Kathleen Watts (Id), | whose body was identified by lingerprints. Richard C. Mowley said: I 'l was sitting on the Embankment just after midnight. I saw a woman come dowji ' e steps. ‘‘She gave some money to a man sitting on a seat and he hurried away, looking well pleased. She gave some cigarettes and more money to other men, , Suddenly she threw her hat into the riv.er and jumped on to the parapet. “I rilshed towards her and was -able to grab her. “1 saw some well-dressed people standing on the bridge .watching us, and I shouted to them to come and watch her while I went for a policeman. They just walked away. “The woman gave me her word th honour that she would not do it again and I went for a policeman. Just as ' was turning away I heard a splash, am I found that she had jumped in.” Verdict —Suicide while of unsoun mind.
