COMMUNITY CONCERT.

Visit Of Famous Radio Stars.

The comedy of Vincent Ryan and the artistry of Senia Chostiakoff not only drew a packed audience to the Town Hall on Saturday night, but also captivated every one. Having won popularity on the radio, these star perfdrmers added to that by their personal appearance on tho stage. Vincent Ryan led the audience in many songs and his foolery brought laughter to the hearts of all. His individual comedy items included such numbers as' “Nobody Noticed Me,” “I Want my Rib,” “The Dance of the Dying Duck,” and “1 Took my Harp to a Party.” The magnificent singing of Senia Chostiakoff, however, most impressed the audience. This e-milnent Russian tenor selected an appealing programme, including “The Song of the Volga Boatmen,” “Santa Lucia,” “Lolita,” “I Hear You Calling Me,” “Funiculi, Funicula,” “The Rose of Tralee,” ‘lMiserere,” “Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life,” “Annie Lauric,” TToseli’s Serenade,” “Until,” and “La Donna e Mobille.’ It was a generous offering by a great artist, whose voice- retains the richness of quality so apparent when he first appeared in New Zealand with the Don Cossack choir. The accompanist was Mr Ossie Cheeseman, who followed the singei with feeling and restraint. In addi tion, he gave two solos on the piano accordeon on which he accompanie-. Chostiakoff in the “Miserere” fron “11 Trovatore.”
