New Zealander and Australian Fighting In Spain. Press Association—Copyright. (Received 11 a.m.) London, January 17. According to the “Irish Front,” William Barry, an Australian, who was reported killed in Spain some time ago, and who later was reported to be alive, was killed when holding off a rebel atack while Government militiamen dismantled their machine guns. When the militia again occupied their former position, Barry was found with a rifle in his hand. G. C. McLaurin, a New Zealander, who was also killed in December, held off a rebel platoon with a machine gun but was killed by their last retreating shot.
