LAKE TAUPO TROUT.

Good Fishing Obtainable.

Recent fishing at Lake Taupo in and around the locality of Asher’s delta camp and Tongariro River mouths, has been first rate. The fish are plentiful and mostly in excellent condition. Many splendid bags have been consistently taken. The average weight is from five to six pounds, and some specimens running up to ten pounders. Mr Hayne, an English visitor at the delta camp, considers the sport offering the best he has yet experienced. Trolling parties also have had excellent sport. The fishing in the Tongariro River except for patches is slow, but the excellent rains now falling should quickly improve these conditions.
