o Shipping Officers Abandoned Action. Press Association—Copyright. New York, Jan. 15. The masters, mates and pilots of the America and National Marine Engineers’ Beneficial Association have abandoned the strike on the east coast ports, following a conference. Officials issued an explanation that the activities of parties not connected with the organisation placed them in a bad light and they felt it best for all concerned fo halt the strike.
