With Cuddle not entered, L. J. Ellis will now have the rid e on Floodtide in the Wellington Cup, and in the early betting this combination is the popular chtfice tor the race. There is a considerable body ot opini ion in the north that Floodtide, I handled by a Strenger rider, would I have beaten Cuddle in the Auckland ! Cup.
