Round the Racing Realm with “Top-weight.”

Two horses which arc weight- I ed for the Welling'on Cup but may not run, are Essex and Arctic King. Essex is the 'only three-year-old in the field and is weighted at 21b. over weight forage. Arctic King has lightened up considerably with the holiday racing and his owner is not anxious to run him at Wellington. Reports from Wellington st < e that the traqk at Trentliam is not likely t.o be hard for their meeting on the 20th inst. The' onciitrinie Straitford (owned Glenthawn has been sold to Mr A. Lile, of New Plymouth. It will be remembered that Mr Lile owned that good hurdle and steeplcchas e horse Omeo, so now he has attained' a half-brother in his latest purchase in Glenthawn. Floodtide and Mai de Mer have arrived. at Trantham from Auckland and Ponty is also seen on the track after his Auckland efforts. Ruaform will soon be placed in training again. Rowan's horses are remaining at New Plymouth until the New Plymouthdlawera circuit in February. Master Brierly was scratched for all Wellington engagements at 12.15 p.m. yesterday.
