BANK SHOOTING

Waiting Till the Magistrate
Returns.
Press Association —Copyright. < Received 1.30 p.m. Invercargill, To-day.
The hearing of charges arising out of the bank shooting case on December 27 were further adjourned this morning by presiding Justices to January 25. The counsel for defence said that he wanted the case heard as soon as possible. The Magistrate was absent, but the Registrar was getting into touch with him. If the hearing was postponed it would delay evidence which should be taken while fresh in the minds of the parties concerned. Detective-Sergeant Thompson said that the police were ready to proceed, but owing to the fact that the Magistrate was away, only a tentative date could be set down. If the case could be heard before January 25, so much the better.
