(Received 11.30 a.m.) Darwin, To-day. “Since leaving Sydney about six months ago, I hate travelled about 36,000 miles by dir and the journey has more than convinced me that flying is the only method of travel,” said Mr F. D. Herrick, a Hawke’s Bay sheep farmer, who arrived at Dawin by the Qantas ’plane on his return trip from London. He was accompanied by his daughter. who has been attending a finishing school in England. Mr Herrick accompanied Mr F. D. Chichester on a flight to the East last year. They had intended flying across Russia to England, but because of flying restrictons, were forced to turn back after reachng Peiping. They returned to Rangoon and then flew to England .
