New Dash for Stratosphere
The British Air Ministry stated recently that Flight-Lieutenant M. J. Adam, of the Experimental Section of the Royal Aircraft establishment, South Farnborough, Hants, had been chosen to pilot the machine which is to attempt to better the altitude record already set up. Squadron-Leader F. R. D. Swain made the record flight in September, reaching a height of 49,967 feet.
