Taranaki Against Proposal To Raise Finance.

A proposal to raise by a levy of 3d on every bowler in New Zealand the expenses of a team of seven for the Empire Games at Sydney in 1938 was considered at the half-yearly meeting of the New Zealand Bowling Association at Wellington to-night and was referred for decision to the annual meeting. The president reported that only a few replies from centres to the

council’s circular were to hand. In favour of the proposed levy were Otago and Wellington and against it South Canterbury, Taranaki, North Otago and Auckland.
