TRIBUTE TO N.Z. FARMERS
AUSTRALIAN’S VIEW
AFTER INVESTIGATION. Mr. H. J. Bate, M.P., Returns To Sydney
Press Association—Copyright. Received 11 a.m. Sydney, To-day
Mr. H. J. Bate, M.P., has returned from New Zealand after a thorough investigation' of dairying there. He will make a special report to the Premier on his observations., Mr. Bate, in the course of an interview, made some interesting comparisons between dairying methods in New Zealand, and Australia. He was convinced that there was scope in Australia for a tremendous development, but he was afraid there was a high wastage of animals in the Dominion due to the tremendous strain placed on cows to ensure maximum production. He paid a tribute to New Zealand dairymen who worked very hard and methodically and employ the most up-to-date ideas the whole year round.
